EJR Rulebook Meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2009 @ 7:00pm. At Johnnies Charcoal Grill on 33rd Street in Edmond. The flyer that was mailed out last week had the wrong date on it... it was meant to be April 2nd & not March 26th. We’ll address any possible changes for the rodeo or rulebook for 2009. We will also be discussing the bull riding fees in this meeting.

Reference from the rulebook on the finals rodeo:

W.        FINALS

W.1      The Finals rodeo will start at 8:00 p.m. on Friday night (with books closing at 7:00 p.m.) and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday (with books closing at 5:00 p.m.)

W.2      The contestant must have competed in the event a minimum of six (6) times prior to the Finals, to qualify for the Finals in that event

W.2.1   The participation point earned for rodeos stopped due to uncontrollable circumstances will be considered competing and will be counted as one of the minimum six times required.

W.3      Contestants will take all points earned throughout the year into the Finals. 

W.4      The Finals will be two (2) performances with an average. 

W.4.1   Each performance payoff will be same as a one (1) regular season rodeo.  The average will not have a payoff.

W.4.2   Each performance points will be the same as a one (1) regular season rodeo.  The average points will be the same as a one (1) regular season rodeo.

W.5      Contestants that do not have 6 rodeos to qualify as a finalist may compete in the finals.  However, they will not be eligible for points or awards, they will only be eligible for money won.

FYI BULL RIDER ENTRY FEES: It was under discussion whether or not to raise the bull riding entry fees from $35.00 to $50.00. After contacting all of the bull riders and their parents, we've decided to leave the bull riding entry fees at $35.00 per entry.

Please remember that the next Jr. Rodeo will be held on a Saturday & Sunday, May 24th & 25th. Saturday's rodeo will start at the same time as usual and May 25th (Sunday), rodeo will start at 2:00pm and books will close promptly at 1:30pm. You may pre-enter for Sunday's rodeo on Saturday evening, after the books are closed.

WE HAVE MADE CHANGES TO THE RULEBOOK THIS YEAR, SO MAKE SURE YOU GET A COPY AND READ IT !!

A current NEGATIVE Coggins paperwork will be checked upon entering the grounds, this is OK state law!!  If you do not have negative Coggins paperwork, you will NOT be allowed to enter the rodeo grounds, so make sure you have your paperwork ready to show at the gate.

REQUIREMENTS:
Prior to entering, contestants must have a copy of birth certificate on file with Secretary and a signed, notarized EDMOND JR. RODEO RELEASE (NO EXCEPTIONS).  A notary will be present, and there will be a $2.00 fee per contestant for notarizing. Contestant must be 18 years or younger as of January 01, 2008.

Royalty Contest
The Royalty Contest will be held Saturday, April 5th at 2:00pm.
The new Royalty for 2008 will be announced at the Saturday evening performance.
